Waupaca Foundry Recognized by DOE

AFS Corporate Member Waupaca Foundry Inc. was one of 14 companies nationwide recognized for its outstanding, industry-leading accomplishments in decarbonization, energy and water efficiency, or waste at an individual facility. The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Better Building Initiative’s Better Plant recipients were announced at the annual Better Buildings, Better Plants Summit on April 3. This is Waupaca Foundry’s third time to receive the honor.

Humtown Wins Prestigious National Association of Manufacturing Award for Business Culture Transformation

The National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) announced Humtown as the winner of the 2024 Manufacturing Leadership Award in the category for Transformational Business Cultures for their proprietary Industrial Athlete Operating System™. 

The Manufacturing Leadership Awards, hosted by NAM, the largest manufacturing association in the United States, celebrated Humtown alongside other industry leaders such as Intel, IBM, Cisco Systems, Whirlpool, and General Motors across eleven categories. 

Hunter Foundry Machinery Celebrates 60

AFS Corporate Member Hunter Foundry Machinery announced it is celebrating its 60th anniversary. In 1963, Al Hunter had an idea for a new type of automated green sand molding machine and founded the company the following year. 

Hunter’s machines have evolved the foundry industry during the last 60 years with many refinements and technological improvements. Focused solely on the foundry industry, Hunter has more than 1,900 molding machines and mold handling systems installed around the world today.

Indiana Chamber Visits Plymouth Foundry

The president and CEO pf the Indiana Chamber of Commerce, Vanessa Green Sinders, visited Plymouth Foundry on April 16. The foundry’s president, Sam Schlosser (pictured with Green Sinders), is the third generation leader of the company. He has been a pivotal contributor to the Indiana Chamber through the years, said Green Sinders––“so pivotal, in fact, that our annual honor for volunteering is now called the Samuel C. Schlosser Volunteer of the Year Award,” she added.
