Sinto America Donates $100,000 to Ecuador Healthcare Facility
As a tribute to the retiring chairman of Sinto America Inc., Jim Hesburgh, the company’s board of directors contributed $100,000 in Hesburgh’s name to Andean Health & Development in Ecuador.
Founded in 1997 by Dr. David Gauss and Rev. Theodore Hesburgh, president emeritus at the University of Notre Dame, Andean Health and Development operates two hospitals in Ecuador and plans to expand its outreach in the region. The organization says it has a bold vision to grow the Ecuadorian healthcare infrastructure and residency programs to full operation and financial self-sufficiency, with the goal to cover indigent care until surpluses are high enough to cover its poorest patients.
