Clow Valve Opens $80 Million Foundry Expansion

AFS Corporate Member Clow Valve, a McWane Inc. company, held a ceremony August 22 to unveil its $80 million foundry expansion.
Oskaloosa Mayor Dave Krutzfeldt and representatives of the Greater Des Moines Partnership and Iowa Economic Development Authority were present to cut the ribbon on the 36,000-sq.-ft. addition. The project initially broke ground in 2023 with support from the state’s High Quality Jobs Program. The program assists qualifying businesses to offset some of the costs incurred to locate, expand or modernize an Iowa facility.

The expansion retains area jobs and nearly doubles the company’s production capacity by replacing outdated equipment, automating the foundry’s control systems, enhancing sustainability and improving employee safety and ergonomics. The company employs 450 people.

“The opening of our foundry expansion represents a shared vision for growth and innovation in Iowa with the support of our community partners and significant investment by McWane,” said Vice President and General Manager Mark Willett. “Clow Valve is proud to reinforce our commitment to Oskaloosa and continue to contribute to the growth of our local community.”
