Blasch Precision Ceramics Commissions Plant Expansion Print E-mail

Released on June 26, 2010

Blasch Precision Ceramics, Albany, N.Y., announced the commissioning of a new 18,860-sq.-ft. expansion at its headquarters and manufacturing facility.

“Global demand for large ceramic nitride bonded silicon carbide components has increased significantly,” said David Bobrek, president and chief executive officer.

The addition is part of a $3.5 million capital expansion plan for the new facility to further accommodate specialized needs for very large shapes. Demand for the shapes comes from the increased installed capacity of new metallurgical refining technology for high purity metals.

Blasch serves the molten metal industries, including metalcasting, as well as petrochemical, power generation and other customers.
