Palmer Manufacturing & Supply, Inc., Springfield, Ohio, has introduced the latest in its mixer blade technology with the Palmer FATTBlades designed to fit all brands of high-speed continuous sand mixers. The two blades are as wide as the discharging chute and easily mounted using the same holes used by existing single blades.
The Palmer FATTBlades create a turbine or fan effect which discharges the mixed sand at a much higher velocity. More importantly, the blades prevent sand from reaching the end of the mixing chamber, therefore eliminating “churning”. The sand is also prevented from staying in the chamber longer than necessary.
This positive displacement of the sand, along with the higher velocity, lessens build-up on the mixer shaft, blades and discharge chute. All Palmer blades are manufactured from alloy steel and are produced using investment castings. This process provides for a higher quality, longer lasting blade body. Standard tungsten carbide thickness is 0.25 in.
Jack Palmer, President of Palmer Manufacturing said, “Foundries will appreciate less clean-up and greater productivity from their current mixers just by simply adding these new blades.”
Palmer Manufacturing specializes in the production and engineering of heavy-duty nobake casting equipment including: sand mixers, molding systems and components, core room equipment, shake-out sand reclamation & knock-out equipment, mold handlers, bulk storage and handling equipment, pumping systems, resin heating systems, sand conditioning, compaction tables, mold and core coating equipment., as well as complete systems and engineering services.
