Bahr Bros. Mfg. Inc., Marion, Ind., purchased Specialty Castings, Springport, Mich., on April 30, 2007.

Specialty Castings is a low to medium run green sand metalcaster producing castings in gray, ductile and ADI materials from ounces to 250 lbs.

Bahr Bros. is a nobake metalcaster producing castings in steel, manganese steel, stainless steel, gray iron, ductile iron and NiHard iron from 2 to 2,000 lbs.

Markets served by both metalcasters include papermill, trucking, government, diesel, power transmission, process machinery, heavy equipment, agriculture handling, machine tool and aluminum smelting.

Both companies believe this acquisition will further improve performance by opening new markets geographically and throughout the industry.
