Wisconsin Aluminum Nominated for State Award Print E-mail

Released on December 14, 2009

Wisconsin Aluminum Foundry, Manitowoc, Wis., has been named one of 40 Wisconsin businesses nominated for the 22nd Annual Wisconsin Manufacturer of the Year Award.

The award, the winner of which will be announced on Feb. 25, is designed to highlight businesses that have made outstanding achievements in manufacturing, including a commitment to business excellence that has a positive impact on the company and the state, making Wisconsin a better place to live, work and play.

The awards are categorized based on employee count—small, medium, large and mega—and a fourth award is given for sustainability. Wisconsin Aluminum has been nominated in the large company category. Each company is evaluated in areas such as financial growth or consistency, technological advances, product development, environmental solutions, operational excellence/continuous improvement, commitment to employees, and effective research and development.

An independent panel of judges, with representatives from business, education, government and the media, will select the 2009 Manufacturer of the Year Award winners.
