Quad City Die Casting Selling Equipment Print E-mail

Released on October 16, 2009

Quad City Die Casting, Moline, Ill., which was embroiled in a well-publicized labor dispute after closing last spring, has put its diecasting equipment up for sale, according to an online auction house.

Quad City, one of three plants formerly operated under the Quadcast Inc. umbrella, produced aluminum and magnesium die castings for the automotive, consumer, industrial, technology and appliance markets out of 40,000 sq. ft. of manufacturing space in Moline. The two other plants operated by Quadcast, Red Oak Die Casting, Red Oak, Iowa, and Davenport White Metal, Davenport, Iowa, also have been closed.

The Branford Group, Branford, Conn., recently reported it would sell 13 diecasting machines, 16 machining centers and various support equipment from the diecasting company’s Moline and Red Oak plants in an online auction Nov. 10-12.

Representatives of QuadCast could not be reached for comment on the sale.
