The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) recently announced 11 Save Energy Now Awards, one of which went to ferrous metalcasting company Metal Technologies Inc. (MTI), Ravenna, Mich.
The awards are designed to recognize companies for their energy saving accomplishments. MTI was rewarded for saving more than 75,000 MMBTU, or more than 7.5% total energy savings. “By implementing the latest energy efficiency technologies, American industry leaders will help ensure American businesses will lead the world into a clean energy future,” Chu said. “Working together with American manufacturing industries to make their facilities as efficient as possible, we will be able to create new jobs, reduce industrial energy use, and limit damaging carbon pollution.”
In addition to MTI, Save Energy Now Awards were won by Benlee Inc., Romulus, Mich., Brose, Chicago, Flex-N-Gate Corp.—MasterGuard, Veedersburg, Ind., The Minster Machine Company, Minster, Ohio, Nease Corp., Harrison, Ohio, American Augers, West Salem, Ohio, Barnard Manufacturing, St. Johns, Mich., Flex-N-Gate Corp., Royal Oak, Mich., Metal Technologies Inc., Ravenna, Mich., Mettler-Toledo International Inc., Columbus, Ohio, and Vantage Plastics, Standish, Mich.
