Aerospace sand caster Aerocast Inc. has entered into a multi-million dollar long-term agreement with Sikorsky Aircraft Corp.

Aerospace sand caster Aerocast Inc., Mesa, Ariz., announced it has entered into a multi-million dollar long-term agreement with Sikorsky Aircraft Corp., Stratford, Conn.
According to the reported terms of the deal, Aerocast’s wholly-owned subsidiary Aerocast International has agreed to furnish certain cast metal parts to Sikorsky for a 10-year period. The specific components included in the deal were not disclosed.
Aerocast currently produces aluminum and magnesium castings primarily for aerospace customers like Honeywell Aerospace, Hamilton Sundstrand and Shimadzu Precision Instruments. Sikorsky is a division of United Technologies Corp., a company with 225,600 employees and $55 billion in annual revenues. Sikorsky produces and services military and commercial helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft.
According to a press release issued by Aerocast, the metalcaster currently is experiencing high demand for its products. The company reports that industry orders for 2008 are projected at $204.4 billion and the industry order backlog is expected to be $404.5 billion.
