Saw Maker Behringer Builds New Ferrous Casting Plant Print E-mail

Released on January 22, 2009

Saw maker Behringer Maschinenfabrik und Eisengießerei GmbH, Kirchardt, Germany, announced it has broken ground on a new greenfield metalcasting facility.

The company is following a timetable it set in 2008, when it decided to update its existing plant, which makes iron castings for Behringer’s saw business. Behringer exports saws to more than 70 countries worldwide and has subsidiaries in the U.S. and France, as well as representatives around the world. The new facility will be capable of producing castings up to 4 metric tons.

In 2008, Behringer contracted engineering consultant Gemco, Eindhoven, the Netherlands, to analyse its production requirements and design the new metalcasting facility. With the analysis complete, Behringer announced it has moved into “the realization phase” of the project, with Gemco as general contractor for all equipment and supplies.
