Citation Corp., Novi, Mich., has been awarded $200 million in new contracts to supply Akebono Brake Corp., Elizabethtown, Ky., with automotive ductile iron castings over a five year period.

The jobs include production of cylinder carriers and spider casting brake components. Citation began the work in September 2008 at its Brewton, Ala., facility and will continue launching products throughout 2009. The castings are being shipped to Akebono’s North American manufacturing plants. Citation estimates 65 million castings will be manufactured over the life of the contract.

Citation is a privately held corporation that employs 2,300 in Alabama, Texas, Indiana, Michigan, North Carolina and Wisconsin. The company serves the transportation and industrial markets.
