FEF, The Foundation for Metal Casting Education, Schaumburg, Ill., held its 61st annual College Industry Conference on Nov. 20-21 at the Drake Hotel in Chicago, bringing together more than 265 industry executives, student delegates, key professors and university administrators.
The conference is structured to connect students to potential industry employers. This year, it drew 97 student delegates and representatives of 30 companies in the metalcasting industry.
The event also included addresses by Kathy Hayrynen, Applied Process Inc., Livonia, Mich.; Raymond Monroe, Steel Founders’ Society of America, Crystal Lake, Ill.; Michelle Keil, Caterpillar Inc., Peoria, Ill.; Peter Clark, Magellan, Mississauga, Ontario, Canada; and Bob Smillie, retired from Nemak, Monterrey, Mexico.
In total, $54,000 in scholarships and awards was presented during the conference. The awards were given to the following people:
