Intermet Plant Wins Honda Delivery Award Print E-mail

Released on May 8, 2008

Intermet Corp., Fort Worth, Texas, announced its Stevensville, Mich., plant has received the Honda Delivery Performance Award for 2007, which recognizes 100% percent on-time delivery.

The award is given to Honda part suppliers that do not miss a delivery date throughout the calendar year and exhibit “continuous dedication toward the achievement of delivery,” according to the criteria set by Honda. The Stevensville plant manufactures aluminum steering knuckles for light vehicles, including some Hondas, using Intermet’s pressure-counter-pressure casting (PCPC) process.

“[This recognition] represents not only our commitment to quality and customer service, but the hard work of everyone here at Stevensville,” said Don Hays, president of Intermet’s PCPC group. “It is a direct result of the lean initiatives we have implemented throughout Intermet and the efficiencies we have gained.”
