Pennsylvania Caster Helping Industry Go Green Print E-mail

Released on January 22, 2008

Metalcaster Concast Metal Products, Mars, Pa., recently developed an online resource promoting environmentally friendly alloys.

The new website offers information about regulatory-compliant, lead-free copper alloys. While Concast pours a variety of eco-friendly alloys, its goal in publishing the new online resource is to deliver a primary resource guide for designers, engineers and OEMs who are looking for a green solution in the metals marketplace, according to a press release issued by the company.

“The green movement is happening all around us in nearly every industry; it’s a long-term trend,” said Al Barbour, president and CEO of Concast. “More and more consumers are wanting environmentally friendly products, and corporations are wanting to be known for doing their part in caring for the environment.”

Concast said in its release that the recent legislation passed in California that will limit future lead content in metals used in contact with potable water provided inspiration for the online resource.

The internet database can be accessed at www.greenalloys.com.
