Diversified Machine Inc., Wixom, Mich., purchased the assets of Aluminum Casting & Engineering Co. Inc., Milwaukee, just before the turn of the New Year.
Diversified, an automotive company producing components through a variety of metalworking methods in seven cities, finalized the purchase on Dec. 27, 2007. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Aluminum Casting & Engineering, which produces high-run automotive castings, will now be operated as Diversified Machine Milwaukee LLC. The semi-permanent mold and sand caster focuses on engine and transmission components, including front covers, intake manifolds, flywheel housings and pump housings.
In its production of aluminum automotive parts, the company uses coldbox coremaking and offers heat treating, trim and finish, impregnation, machining, assembly and testing, as well.
“Diversified Machine Inc. Milwaukee’s high throughput processes and thin wall capabilities complement our existing operations and increase our ability to provide automotive solutions from concept to finish for our customers,” said Diversified chairman and CEO Bruce Swift. “We are excited to add Diversified Machine Milwaukee to the Diversified Machine family.”
In addition to the new plant in Milwaukee, Diversified operates facilities in Bristol, Ind., Canton, Mich., Detroit, Howell, Mich., Montague, Mich., and Wixom, Mich.
