Metalcasting supplier Tube City IMS Corp., Glassport, Pa., announced that effective Jan. 1, 2008, its operating subsidiaries Tube City LLC and International Mill Service Inc. have merged.

In the past, the two units operated as separate wholly-owned subsidiaries of the corporation. The name of the newly-merged company is Tube City IMS LLC.

In addition, the Canadian subsidiary of the company has been renamed from International Mill Service Ltd. to Tube City IMS Canada Ltd.

According to a press release issued by the company, the merger and name change reflect the changing requirements of the company’s customers. Existing operations, which include procuring raw materials, providing slag processing and handling scrap for the steel and metalcasting industries, will not be affected.
