Can-Eng Furnaces International Ltd., Niagara Falls, N.Y., recently installed and commissioned a high volume basketless heat treatment system for an automobile manufacturer in the southeastern U.S.

Can-Eng said the system will provide the engine manufacturer with a reduction in energy consumption and floor space requirements, as compared to conventional roller hearth or batch heat treatment systems.

The heat treat system incorporates a material handling system that provides for single piece product flow, transferring components through the system without the use of baskets, carriers or trays.
