Pollution control specialist CECO Environmental Corp., Cincinatti, announced it has completed the acquisition of GMD Environmental Technologies Inc., Fort Worth, Texas.
GMD designs, manufactures and markets equipment for industrial clients with an emphasis on air pollution control and treatment of heavy metals, acid gas and dioxins, as well as metalcasting sand reclamation. The company operates throughout North America, providing these products and services to a range of industrial customers with primary emphasis on the metals industries.
According to a statement released by CECO, the company will retain GMD’s president, Jerry Reier, to continue running the business.
“GMD had sales in its last fiscal year of approximately $7 million,” said Phillip DeZwirek, chairman and CEO of CECO. “We expect this acquisition to enhance both our revenues and our earnings. GMD has a backlog of over $3 million.”
CECO is an independent air pollution control company with eight subsidiaries in addition to the newly added GMD—Busch, CECOaire, CECO Filters, CECO Abatement Systems, kbd/Technic, Kirk & Blum, H. M. White and EFFOX. The company and its subsidiaries provide a wide spectrum of air quality services and products.
