AmeriCast Issues Statement on Explosion at Atlas |
Our Atlas Tacoma business unit experienced an explosion and fire this past Saturday afternoon, October 6th. Fortunately, there were no serious injuries to AmeriCast employees. Two of our plant employees did receive injuries but were treated and released from the hospital. There was major damage to electrical, lighting and windows. The power company is working hard to restore most of the electrical to the facility. Some of the power is now back online. Crews are currently assessing any potential structural damage to the molding, melting and heat-treatment facilities. Further updates will follow after a complete assessment; however, there may be disruptions that impact some deliveries from the Atlas Tacoma facility. We will be notifying those effected and will be providing direct communication on impact by Tuesday, October 9. If necessary, AmeriCast will utilize additional resources from our Chehalis, WA location and other business units to support recovery and fulfillment of current orders. Monday will be a day of further assessment and determination of total operational impact. Additional updates will follow on Tuesday to provide further details on impact on operations. We appreciate your patience as we work swiftly and diligently to communicate with you regarding open orders and courses of action. Sincerely, Tom Armstrong – CEO & AmeriCast Technologies Management.
