Released on Tuesday, January 10, 2006 Accuride Corp., Evansville, Ind., announced it is investing approximately $25 million in its aluminum wheel business. The investment has been slated for two new hydraulic presses, as well as other, unspecified tactical improvements to facilities and equipment. Accuride has tentatively decided to install the new press cells in Erie, Pa., in late 2007. They are expected to be operational by the first quarter of 2008. The unspecified changes to facilities and equipment are expected to be implemented during the second and third quarters of 2007. "This investment represents…a milestone in the implementation of our strategic plan," said Rick Klein, vice president and general manager of Accuride Aluminum Wheels. "Accuride's strategic plan focuses on providing our customers…efficient, reliable capacity." Accuride Corp. manufactures and supplies commercial vehicle components, including wheels, wheel-end components and assemblies, truck body and chassis parts and seating assemblies, in North America. |
