Ford Sells Automotive Component Maker |

Ford Motor Co. signed a definitive agreement to sell its Automotive Components Holdings Power Transfer Unit and Converca I Plant, Nuevo Laredo, Mexico, to Linamar Corp., Guelph, Ontario.
The purchase will include the 304,000-sq.-ft. plant and 25 acres of land, and 200 employees will be retained, including an engineering staff of 20.
Linamar announced its intent to purchase the plant in April 2007. According to a Linamar press release, the deal should close on Sept. 1.
The power transfer unit is a driveline component that provides all-wheel-drive control to vehicles.
