Kuka Robotics Donates to Detroit Science Center Print E-mail

Released on August 13, 2007

Kuka Robotics Corp., Clinton Township, Mich., donated two 6-axis robots for the “United States Steel Fun Factory” exhibit at the Detroit Science Center.

The new exhibit shows visitors a variety of manufacturing processes, and in one, a Kuka robot interacts with a video that demonstrates how robots are used for welding and in metalcasting facilities and other manufacturing applications.

“It is important for people in Michigan and the surrounding area to have an understanding of what is happening on the manufacturing floor,” said Stu Shepherd, president of Kuka Robotics Corp. “The Detroit Science Center has done an excellent job in relating the tasks and tools used in factories to adults and children alike.”
