Thresher Industries, Hanford, Calif., announced it has been working in Asia to solicit new business, as well as open discussions to form a joint venture to build a manufacturing facility in Asia.
The company in May announced it was looking for a site to build a metalcasting facility in the Midwestern U.S., but did not return a phone call regarding the status of the search.
To advance Thresher’s Asian footprint, Robin Carden, vice president of business development, visited Japan and Korea, where he met with customers for new business using material for nuclear shielding and to open dialog for a joint venture manufacturing facility in Japan or Korea.
Thresher Industries provides conventional cast aluminum as well as reinforced metal matrix composite aluminum alloy components for a variety of customers and applications.
