Aleris International Inc., Beechwood, Ohio, will acquire the assets of smaller alloy supplier Wabash Alloys, Wabash, Ind.

Wabash produces aluminum casting alloys and molten metal at seven facilities in the U.S., Canada and Mexico. The company had 2006 revenues of approximately $900 million and employs about 700. Closing of the deal is expected to occur in the third quarter and is subject to regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions.
