Quaker Chemical Corp., Conshohocken, Pa., announced it has acquired G.W Smith & Sons Inc., Dayton, Ohio.
Quaker Chemical provides process chemicals to a range of industries, including metalcasting. G.W. Smith & Sons will add diecasting lubricants, metalworking lubricants and machining fluids to Quaker’s product list.
"G.W. Smith & Sons is an excellent strategic fit for Quaker, as it is complementary to our existing business,” said Michael Barry, Quaker's CEO. “Many of our customers have diecasting and related operations."
G.W. Smith & Sons will operate as a standalone subsidiary of Quaker and continue to be led by its current management.
"We are excited to become part of a much larger company, as it will give us direct access to additional resources and a broader base of skilled associates from around the globe,” said Victor Smith Jr., president of G.W. Smith & Sons.
