Private equity firm Torque Capital Group, New York, has acquired the assets of Triumph Precision Castings Co., Chandler, Ariz., and renamed the turbine parts investment caster TPC Castings.
TPC Castings serves the industrial gas turbine and aero gas turbine engine markets, producing rotating blades, vanes, shrouds and other parts used in the hot gas path section of turbine engines.
“The management team is looking forward to partnering with Torque Capital to build on and broaden the unique capabilities of the combined company, which will continue to deliver outstanding value to our customers,” said Mark Doelling, president of TPC Castings.
In a separate transaction, the private equity firm purchased machine shop Dynamic Turbine LLC, Norcross, Ga., which also serves the turbine parts market.
“The combination of the investment casting expertise of TPC Castings with precision machining capability creates a vertically-integrated provider of complete hot section parts manufacturing solutions for the global [turbine] marketplaces,” said Joseph Parzick, managing partner of Torque Capital.
According to Torque Capital, TPC Castings is equipped with a fully automated and environmentally controlled shell molding line and vacuum induction melting furnaces producing equiaxed, directionally solidified and single crystal castings. The facility also operates vacuum heat treat, can produce cored molds for hollow components and performs all nondestructive testing processes in-house.
