Harvey Industries Buys South Carolina Diecaster Print E-mail

Harvey Industries Die-Casting LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Harvey Industries LLC, Livonia, Mich., announced it has acquired the diecasting assets of R.E. Phelon Company Inc., Aiken, S.C.

According to a press release issued by Harvey Industries, the acquired operation has reported annual sales of approximately $24 million, 130 employees and 100,000 sq. ft. of manufacturing space. Harvey Industries expects the acquisition to expand its geographic footprint and build on its aluminum casting capabilities.

Harvey Industries provides aluminum and iron castings, machining, assembly and polymer injection molding. In addition to the new property in South Carolina, the company operates metalcasting facilities in Wabash, Ind., and Nuevo Laredo, Mexico, as well as a warehouse and distribution center in Laredo, Texas, and a machine shop in Westland, Mich.

R.E. Phelon designs and manufactures engine electronics, ignition systems, alternator-stators, charging systems and voltage regulators. The company’s aluminum diecasting operations produce flywheels, castings, and components used in the lawn and garden, power generation, commercial lighting, appliance and industrial markets.
