Released on November 22, 2010

James Glassman, keynote speaker at the Casting Industry Suppliers Association (CISA) 2010 Fall Business Conference and managing director and senior economist with J.P. Morgan Chase & Co., said the U.S. economy will see noticeable acceleration in mid-2011.

Glassman offered attendees of the conference, held Nov. 10-11 at the Westin O’Hare, Rosemont, Ill., his presentation, “The Tide Also Rises.” The economist forecast modest but consistent economic recovery in the coming year as the stimulus winds down, followed by the acceleration in 2011. Glassman pointed to the modernizing of the economies in China and India as two significant factors that will impact the global economy.

Other speakers at the annual CISA Fall Business Conference focused on the coming year, markets and economy. A trio of industry leaders, Alfred Spada, American Foundry Society, Schaumburg, Ill., Raymond Monroe, Steel Founders’ Society of America, Crystal Lake, Ill., and James Mallory, Non-Ferrous Founders’ Society, Park Ridge, Ill., spoke on the economy as a whole, their individual  markets, and considerations and ramifications as the market rebounds. Roberts Clemens, E-Myth Benchmark, presented on growing small business, common pitfalls and how to avoid them, and utilizing “Objectivication” and “Systemization” as two keys to optimizing your business success.
